Water Framework Directive favourable
Water for life and livelihoods, River basin management plans, Glossary, Published by the Environment Agency in 2016, defines WFD favourable, or Water Framework Directive favourable as: ‘...a term applied in the classification of the water dependent SSSI units used to assess the condition of Natura 2000 protected areas, and used for river basin management planning purposes only. i.e. ‘Water Framework Directive favourable’ only applies to water dependent features and does not necessarily mean that the SSSI unit/s overall are in “favourable condition”.’
